This tiny house is situated on the edge between a field and woods on a 32 acre property in Austin, Texas. I intended this house to be experienced as a peaceful retreat from city life, surrounded by serene views of natural Texas hill country. I designed its living spaces to be comfortable, uncompromised, and fully functional despite the small 455 sqft footprint.
Many of the fixtures and materials in this construction were salvaged from historic homes and refurbished or repurposed. In addition to the building itself I designed the interior and much of the furniture. I additionally project managed the construction between the builder and client. Having previously only designed objects that go in spaces, it was immensely rewarding to explore the creation of spaces themselves.
