Toy Dart
I was inspired to make this homage to my 1968 Dodge Dart after encountering Candylab’s minimal, faceted interpretation of an early 60s Lincoln Continental during a visit to the Petersen Automotive Museum. It was a compelling exercise to shed and simplify as many details as possible while maintaining the core visual identity, both as a delicate act of abstraction and also as a means to ensure it was realistically buildable in a traditional wood shop. This was created for the IDSA Pinewood Derby using curly pine and wood dye.
